There are times when the previous owner of the property moves and has left a balance due on their account. We need documentation from the new customer to prove that they were not on-site during the time that any of the balance owed was accrued. This process has been put in place due to some who have taken advantage of the system and opted to sign up for new service rather than pay their existing past-due bill. If you have purchased the property, you will not be held accountable for any charges that were accrued prior to your ownership.
Unfortunately, with rental properties where several tenants have left past due balances, the balance owed will need to be satisfied before service can be resumed for this site. This would be the responsibility of the landowner. If you are notified that this is the case, you will need to request your landlord to contact Amwaste Customer Care and take care of the balance owed so you can start up your services.
